Description

The DQ200 mechatronic is an electronically controlled hydraulic control unit that regulates clutch operation and gear changing in the DQ200, a 7-speed semi-automatic dual clutch gearbox. The DQ200 gearbox is designed for transverse engines with up to 250 Nm of engine torque, such as the Volkswagen Polo, Golf, Passat, and Touran. The “Q” in DQ200 stands for “Quermotor”, which indicates that it’s designed for transverse engines. The DQ200 gearbox has two dry plate clutches, two drive shafts, and three output shafts, and can operate fully automatically or with an optional manual shifting option.

The DQ200 mechatronic is prone to faults that can cause incorrect or harsh gear changes, or even complete loss of drive. Some signs of a faulty mechatronic include:

• Bad gear selection
• Getting stuck in gear
• No gear selection
• The gearbox only selects odd or even gears
• Dashboard warning light of PRNDS, orange spanner, gear wheel or cog
• Going into limp mode
• A bump or surge of power when shifting
• Jolty gear changes

1. P17BF / P17BF00 – Hydraulic Pump Play Protection:
   • This fault code indicates an issue with the mechatronics unit’s hydraulic pump, often caused by internal wear or a problem with the DSG oil.
2. P189C – Clutch Temperature Monitoring:
   • Indicates overheating of the dual-clutch system. This could be due to insufficient cooling, fluid issues, or excessive load on the transmission.
3. P1895 – Function Restriction due to Insufficient Pressure Build-Up:
