0AM DQ200 Mechatronic unit
£495.00
Reconditioned DQ200 mechatronic units for Volkswagen, Audi, and Skoda vehicles. These units are fully rebuilt and tested to meet OEM specifications. The DQ200 gearbox is a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG) used primarily in smaller cars with front-wheel drive from Volkswagen Group’s portfolio. It is most commonly paired with engines that generate moderate torque (up to 250 Nm), typically 1.2 to 2.0-liter TSI (petrol) or TDI (diesel) engines.
Vehicles that commonly use the DQ200:
Volkswagen:
- VW Golf (1.2L TSI, 1.4L TSI)
- VW Polo (1.2L TSI, 1.4L TSI)
- VW Jetta (1.2L TSI, 1.4L TSI)
- VW Passat (1.4L TSI, 1.8L TSI)
- VW Tiguan (1.4L TSI)
- VW Touran (1.4L TSI)
Audi:
- Audi A1 (1.4L TSI)
- Audi A3 (1.2L TFSI, 1.4L TFSI)
- Audi Q3 (1.4L TFSI, 1.8L TFSI)
Å koda:
-
- Å koda Octavia (1.2L TSI, 1.4L TSI)
- Å koda Superb (1.4L TSI)
- Å koda Fabia (1.2L TSI, 1.4L TSI)
- Å koda Karoq (1.4L TSI)
Description
The DQ200 mechatronic is an electronically controlled hydraulic control unit that regulates clutch operation and gear changing in the DQ200, a 7-speed semi-automatic dual clutch gearbox. The DQ200 gearbox is designed for transverse engines with up to 250 Nm of engine torque, such as the Volkswagen Polo, Golf, Passat, and Touran. The “Q” in DQ200 stands for “Quermotor”, which indicates that it’s designed for transverse engines. The DQ200 gearbox has two dry plate clutches, two drive shafts, and three output shafts, and can operate fully automatically or with an optional manual shifting option.
The DQ200 mechatronic is prone to faults that can cause incorrect or harsh gear changes, or even complete loss of drive. Some signs of a faulty mechatronic include:
- Bad gear selection
- Getting stuck in gear
- No gear selection
- The gearbox only selects odd or even gears
- Dashboard warning light of PRNDS, orange spanner, gear wheel or cog
- Going into limp mode
- A bump or surge of power when shifting
- Jolty gear changes
Reconditioned Units: Reconditioned DQ200 mechatronic units are often sold as an alternative to brand-new units due to cost considerations. These units are typically disassembled, cleaned, and repaired with new components as necessary, ensuring they meet or exceed the original specifications. The advantage of purchasing a reconditioned unit is that it can be significantly cheaper than buying a brand-new part from the manufacturer, will offer a 1 year unlimited mileage warranty.
The DQ200 DSG gearbox can generate various fault codes when issues arise. These codes are usually stored in the vehicle’s Engine Control Unit (ECU) or Transmission Control Unit (TCU). Here are some common DQ200 fault codes and their potential causes:
Common Fault Codes:
- This is related to the clutch adaptation values being out of range, typically due to clutch wear or improper adaptation during service.
- This is related to the clutch adaptation values being out of range, typically due to clutch wear or improper adaptation during service.
- P17BF / P17BF00 – Hydraulic Pump Play Protection:
- This fault code indicates an issue with the mechatronics unit’s hydraulic pump, often caused by internal wear or a problem with the DSG oil.
- P189C – Clutch Temperature Monitoring:
- Indicates overheating of the dual-clutch system. This could be due to insufficient cooling, fluid issues, or excessive load on the transmission.
- P1895 – Function Restriction due to Insufficient Pressure Build-Up:
- Points to a problem with the hydraulic pressure within the transmission. This might be caused by a malfunctioning hydraulic pump, leakage, or other internal damage.
- P0700 – Transmission Control System (MIL Request):
- A generic transmission fault code indicating that the TCU has detected a problem and has requested the engine control unit to turn on the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). This code is often accompanied by more specific transmission codes.
- P17F8 – Clutch Pressure Adaptation:
- This is related to the clutch adaptation values being out of range, typically due to clutch wear or improper adaptation during service.
